United 93

Cheryl and Dustin came to visit and Jon decided that we were going to go to Ohio to the Football Hall of Fame in Akron. So we headed North on Interstate 70 through Pennsylvania.  On the way we stopped at the United 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful fall day.

Appomattox Court House

I took a weekend off from work and Jon decided that we were going to go to the Bristol Race in Tennessee. We decided to stay in Roanoke, Virginia which is about two hours from Bristol. We wanted to to visit a few sights while we were in the area and we went to Appomattox Court House, where Lee's Army surrendered at the end of the Civil War.  Courthouse in Appomattox Court House. I learned that the name of the town is Appomattox Court House but nothing actually took place in this building. This is the back of the building. Front of the Courthouse.
