BASBALL!!

After the zoo on Wednesday, We grabbed a quick bite to eat then headed for National's Park to watch some baseball. If you don't pay attention to baseball you may not have heard about Stephen Strausberg, the next big thing in baseball. I bought our tickets thinking he might play but he only plays every fifth day and he started on Tuesday so we missed him. But we still had a great time at the game. Our seats weren't great but they were on the end and no one else was on our row. It was a warm night but not humid. There was also a chance of rain but we didn't see it.

This is me looking out on the baseball field. Its a pretty nice park. We also had kind of a nice view of the Anacostia River and we could see the Capitol Building.



David Achuleta sang the National Anthem. That's kind of funny because before we moved to Maryland, we went to a Utah Jazz game where he sang the National Anthem. David was there with the Children's Miracle Network. They had a child from each of the states at the game. The boy that was from Idaho threw out the first pitch.





Jon's favorite Nationals player is Ian Desmond, short stop. Desmond has a quirk. Before hitting, He stares at his bat. I think it is a focusing technique. He's pretty good and had a couple hits. This is a picture of him staring at the bat.



National's Park has a Presidents' Race every home game. They have president Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln race around the field. Thomas Jefferson won the race that night. After the race, around the sixth inning, Abe came up and sat behind us. It cause quite a stir with those around us. I took a picture of him behind us.
