Fort Smallwood

As I mentioned in my last post, I have really wanted to get outside and in Nature lately. So I had the weekend of the 14th and 15th off so we on Sunday, we went for a ride. I wanted to be near the water so we went looking for some beaches along the Chesapeake. Well, we found a few but they were mostly private. We ended up heading north from Annapolis towards Baltimore. We came across Fort Smallwood. Fort Smallwood is actually a county park. It was on the water a little ways from Baltimore. You could kind of see the Baltimore skyline through the haze. We got out and went for a walk around the park.



























And this is why I married him.

Appomattox Court House

I took a weekend off from work and Jon decided that we were going to go to the Bristol Race in Tennessee. We decided to stay in Roanoke, Virginia which is about two hours from Bristol. We wanted to to visit a few sights while we were in the area and we went to Appomattox Court House, where Lee's Army surrendered at the end of the Civil War.  Courthouse in Appomattox Court House. I learned that the name of the town is Appomattox Court House but nothing actually took place in this building. This is the back of the building. Front of the Courthouse.
